About Bill

I’ve been catfishing since I was big enough to hold a cane pole in the wilds of western Kansas. But when I moved to North Carolina 10 years ago and experienced the sport of power drifting for Blue and Flathead catfish on Lake Norman with master fishermen like Mac Byrum, it became a passion.

Maybe even an obsession.

Over the years, I’ve met a lot of folks who wanted to fish Lake Norman, but didn’t have a boat and didn’t know where to start. It’s been a blast taking them out and putting many of them on the biggest fish they’ve ever had on a line.

Now, I’d like to offer my services as a guide to even more folks wanting to fish Lake Norman and Mountain Island Lake. I don’t pretend to understand everything there is to know about catfishing, but I learn something new almost every time I go out on the water, and it’s a big part of my job to make sure you do, too.

Come hop on the boat. We’ll troll some baits, swap some stories and if the fish feel like cooperating, we’ll put as many as we can in the net. Blue cats bite year ‘round, even in the winter, so we can fish every month of the year. (But you might need your long johns some of those chilly days in January!)

Remember: any day on the water is a good day!
